Virginia M. Phillips

VIRGINIA M. PHILLIPS, 95 of Weirton, WV passed away Friday August 25, 2017 at the Ohio Valley Hospital, Kennedy Twp., PA. She was born March 11, 1922 in Dennison, OH. She was the daughter of the late John R. and Pearl M. Baker Patterson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert James Phillips (1978); great grandchild; brothers, Delbert, Earl, and Tod Patterson.

Virginia was a member of the First Christian Church, Tag-a-longs bowling league, Teachers Retirement association of Hancock County, Weirton Medical Center auxiliary. She retired from the Hancock County Board of Education as a teachers aide from the former Weirton Heights Elementary school.

Surviving are her daughter, Tina Simmermaker (Darrell) of Springfield, IL; son, Delbert M. Henry (Georgette) of Coraopolis, PA; 5 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren.

There will be no visitation. An inurnment committal service will be held Tuesday September 5, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens with Reverend Kevin L. Bowers presiding.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the First Christian Church, 3252 Main Street, Weirton, WV 26062. As per Virginia's wishes, cremation arrangements have been entrusted to STEEL & WOLFE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., Weirton, WV.
