WILLIAM D. “DAN” GRANT, SR., 88, of Weirton, WV, passed Sunday, July 21, 2024 at Allegheny General Hospital. He was born July 14, 1936 in Wheeling, WV, son of the late Wilbur and Alice Pethtel Grant. He was also preceded in death by his grandson, Nathan Pulice; and sister, Jeanne Atkinson.
Dan was a 50-year member of Cove Presbyterian Church, where he was a past treasurer and trustee. He was also an active member of Paris Presbyterian Church. Member and past Master of Weirton Lodge No. 171 A.F. & A.M., past treasurer of Osiris Shriners and member of Scottish Rite, Wheeling, WV, and past Cub Scout Master of Pack 34. Dan worked for 40 years in Weirton Steel in accounting at the Tin Mill and General Offices.
Dan is survived by his loving wife, Patricia “Pat” Ann Hazlett Grant; daughters, Kimberly Uram (Larry) and Linda Fuller (Steve); sons, Dan Grant, Jr. (Tamara) and Jeffrey Grant; grandchildren, Ryan Pulice (Amanda), Evan Pulice, Grant Fuller, Ella Fuller, Halle Grant, Carly Grant, Dan Grant III, Isabela Grant, Ivy Grant, Isaiah Grant and Jonathan Uram (Tina); great-grandchildren, Samantha Pulice and Carrera Uram; and sister, Nancy Hinton (Don).
Visitation will take place Wednesday, July 24, from 2 to 4pm and from 6 to 8pm, at Steel & Wolfe Funeral Home, 380 Penco Road, Weirton, where the funeral will be held Thursday at 11:30am with Pastor Nadia Stropich presiding. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens with Masonic Funeral Service rendered by Weirton Lodge No. 171 A.F. & A.M.
