William Thomas "Tom" Kinder,Jr.,82,of Weirton, passed away on Wednesday, September 28,2016 at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh,PA. He was born on January 1,1934 in Weirton,WV.,the son of the late William Thomas Kinder,Sr., and the late Dorothy Louise Ramsey Kinder Harrington.Tom is also preceded in death by his son Paul Ivan Kinder and his sister Dorothy Lavonne Stear.He was joined in marriage in New Cumberland,WV on July 3,1976 to Yovenne Daugherty.
Tom was was retired from the Machine Shop of the Weirton Steel Corporation.He was a veteran of the United States Army and served during the Korean War.He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 121 in Chester,WV.;the Shippingport Lodge No. 485 Free and Accepted Masons; and the 25 Year Club of Weirton Steel Corporation.
Surviving are his wife Yovenne Daugherty Kinder of Weirton,WV.;son James (Mary) Kinder of Burgettstown,PA.;step daughters Mona Jean Boyer of Wintersville,OH. and Barbara Jane (Paul) Martin of Lexington,KY.;nephew Matthew (Linda) Stear of Weirton,WV.Also surviving are eight grandchildren,fifteen great-grandchildren,and one great-great-granddaughter.
Visitation will be held from 3-6 p.m. on Sunday,October 2,2016 at STEEL & WOLFE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES,Inc.,380 Penco Road, Weirton,WV,26062 and the funeral/commital service will be held at the funeral home on Monday,October 3 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Dr. Christina Hosler presiding. Burial will take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Weirton,WV.
In lieu of flowers, Tom's family requests that donations be made to the Paris Presbyterian Church 127 Steubenville Pike, Burgettstown,PA 15021.
